Dr Claudia Delgado joined the IOC Project Office for IODE in Oostende on 17 January 2011. Claudia will be responsible for coordinating the training activities held at the Project Office and will also manage OceanTeacher and OceanTeacher Academy.
Claudia has the Portuguese nationality. She obtained a university degree on Aquatic Environment Sciences from Porto University in 1998 and her PhD at the University of Madeira in April 2008. During the past 11 years Claudia developed her professional career mainly in Madeira dealing with marine turtle research and conservation as well as with marine biodiversity issues. More recently she was the regional focal point of the ERA-Net (European Research Area) project Net-Biome (NETworking tropical and subtropical BIodiversity research in OuterMost regions and territories of Europe in support of sustainable development) at Madeira Island.
Claudia speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
