01-October 2009 - IAMSLIC/EURASLIC Conference ends in Brugge

mergediamslic_500x157.shkl.jpgThe joint 35th Annual IAMSLIC (International Association of Aquatic and Marine Sciences Libraries and Information Centers) Conference and 13th Biennial EURASLIC (European Association of Aquatic Sciences Libraries and Information Centres) Conference was held in Brugge, Belgium between 27 September and 1 October 2009. The event, co-hosted and co-sponsored by IOC/IODE and the Flanders Marine Institute was organized at the monumental Provincial Court in Brugge.

The theme for the conference was “Confluence of Ideas: Evolving to meet the challenges of global change”. During the conference various topics are discussed on how libraries can adapt to the challenges of our times: innovative and customized services such as data publishing, data curation, involvement in cyberinfrastructure, collaborations and marketing of the library or information centre. Also green practices will be discussed. The conference is organized in the Provincial court at the central square of Bruges and it is attended by over 80 participants from all over the globe.
