10-January-2011: Susana Macanawai takes up position of PIMRIS and ODIN-PIMRIS coordinator

macanawaiSusana Macanawai took up the position of PIMRIS Coordinator on 8 November 2010. She holds the Bachelor of Agriculture, Post-Graduate Certification in Education, and Diploma in Library & Information Studies from USP; and the Graduate Diploma in Applied Science [Lib/Info. Management] and Master in Applied Science [Lib/Info. Management] from Charles Sturt University, NSW. Susana will also coordinate the IODE ODIN-PIMRIS project (see http://www.iode.org/odinpimris).

She comes to PIMRIS with vast experience in the education and information fields. She was the Crop Development Officer in the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry in Samoa before taking up teaching positions in Fiji and Samoa. From 2001 to 2003, she worked at USP-IRETA (Alafua Campus) as the Information Assistant/Acting ALO Coordinator and Manager, Information Networking Department. From 2003 to 2007, she worked as a Library Assistant at USP Laucala Campus. She was located at the PIMRIS Library for some time during this period. She was appointed to a Librarian position at USP Library in 2007 but resigned in 2008 to join her husband on his Training Leave in Australia. Whilst in Australia, she worked as a Reference Librarian at the Queensland University of Technology and Project Officer for the Excellence in Research for Australia Progam at the University of Queensland.
