A number of international organizations, NGOs as well as programmes or projects collaborating with IODE are also invited (through an IOC Circular Letter). IODE may also invite individual experts. The latest version of the provisional List of Participants is available HERE.

Note: IOC/IODE does not provide financial support for participation in IODE Committee Sessions as participation in Sessions of the IODE Committee is a requirement for IODE NODCs. In the case of developing countries ODIN projects may be able to fund 1-2 participants who will then be tasked to represent their region in the Session.

Working Documents

The list of available working documents is available here. Check this page regularly as from September 2010 as documents will be added as they have been submitted by authors.

National Reports

Since IODE-XIX national reports have been requested through an online survey. This year the surveys are available as follows:

You can see here the list of submissions. Countries that have not yet filled the survey are urgently requested to do so. The surveys will be closed on 31 January 2011.

Working Language(s)

All IODE national coordinators were consulted through an online survey on the need for (i) translation of documents in all  IOC working languages; and (ii) interpretation in all IOC working languages during the Session. The results were as follows: 88% of respondents stated that translation of working documents into all IOC working languages is not required; 70% of respondents stated that interpretation into all IOC working languages is not required. Accordingly the working language for all working documents and for the Session will be English only.

National Reports/Surveys

All IODE National Coordinators (data management and marine information management) are requested to submit their national report covering the years 2009 and 2010. The reports can be filled on-line through the URLs listed here (as from October 2010).

Election of Co-Chairs

As the current Co-Chairs (Mr Greg Reed and Dr Malika Bel Hassen Abid) have completed two inter-sessional periods the Committee will be invited to elect new Co-Chairs. Through IOC Circular Letter 2360 (14 September 2010) Member States were invited to nominate candidates. Two candidatures were received: Ms Sissy Iona and Mr Ariel Troisi.
